6″ Dragon Heater Bell Design – Part 3

We did some brief testing of this design, but did not really like the drafting. To be fair it was still very hot, 95F. It did work well in terms of lowering the exit temperatures in increasing the bell heat storage. However, it did not draft near as well as the chimney flue build. So for the moment, we are tabling this design until the fall for more realistic test.

Just wondering if you have done any more with this design, I am very interested as I think this would just what i am looking for to heat a poorly insulated shop in whats been a very cold winter in the Ozarks.
    Keep up the good work

    • We did test in the fall and I have to say this is one of those designs that works on paper, but in reality just did not perform well. Sadly we eventually gave up on it and tore it down.
